Glissande is the natural perfume label for my company — Mountain Lavender. I first began in 1991, when my husband and I moved out of the city, and up to a high mountain log cabin. There I painted landscapes, played my harp in the evenings and gardened vegetables, herbs, and flowers with my husband Dave. Dave and I believe in living the natural life, and nature has been our true inspiration.
The light through the woods, the misty days when the clouds enveloped us, the warm evening when the eastern mountains glow pink, the bird-song, the coyotes, the smell of the musky, dusky woods in autumn — all these things became my inspiration and in 2000, when we got a house at the edge of a small town to facilitate our lives, I came up with the concept of Mountain Lavender and Glissande started happening around my love of herbology and aromatherapy.
Starting an perfume company is an outcome of creating my own natural products for myself and friends for the last 15 years. Working with aromatherapy oils and herbs to improve my own life led me to the final experiment of Glissande, and to creating three perfumes,
Floral Song,
Southwinds, and
Lost Roses, available in two sizes, 1/4 ounce, and 2 ounces with an atomizer. Both are glass bottles with gold caps.
